Thanks for checking out my blog! I'm excited to share our tilted world. We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and strive to live a life that reflects His love for us and His children. My husband and I have 3 children. Derek is the oldest. He is a senior at Marshall High School. JD is in the 6th grade and Georgia is in the 5th grade. They attend at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran School. While life can get quite busy we try to keep things in perspective.

Odd timing
Tonight it is late. It is 1:00 a.m..I stayed up with my kids but as they fell asleep I began to really enjoy the silence. It's a silence I look forward to every night. I spend most of my day running full speed to meet their every need and sometimes their wants. I love that part most of the time but I enjoy my wind down time. Late at night is usually when I get that. Sometimes during the day I don't have the time or motavation to clean or organize my next day. Sometimes I am so tired I fall asleep easily. Other times I get an energy that sends me trying to catch up on needed housework. Tonight was one of those nights. I go to bed with a sense of satisfaction in what I accomplished. It is amazing what I can do late at night when it is quiet. I want to be the best Mom I can and keeping up with the house is really important to me. Sometimes that happens frequently and sometimes it doesn't. I am thankful that God gives me the strength to everything. Honoring God and my role as a mother is one of the greatest actions I can do. I have the best husband in the world. He prays with me and does his best to be patient with me. Thank you Aaron. I love my Lord, my husband, and my children.
Six Flags!
Thanks to a wonderful blessing, we were given 3 tickets to Fiesta Texas for the kids. Since Derek already has a pass, I just needed to buy a ticket. We met up with some friends of ours that go all the time. Kary and 2 of her kids, Cory and Cameron. Cory and Derek enjoyed hanging out on their own. Cameron, JD, Ian, and Georgia stayed with us. JD has had this obsession with a roller coaster named Goliath. It was a new ride when we saw it and we had tons of fun on it. However, JD wasn't tall enough yet. He has been waiting and waiting. So, the first thing we had to do was check it out to see if he was tall enough. Sure enough, he was!! He squealed the whole time! Since he was tall enough for that ride he was tall enough for plenty of others. Georgia patiently is waiting to be taller and braver, but had tons of fun in the lazy river and some of the smaller rides. Ian has been several times and had his favorites like the Tornado and Roadrunner! Georgia was a little nervous on the Roadrunner and felt safer next to Ian. That was neat! I think Derek and Cory enjoyed the freedom and checking out girls..;) We had so much fun. The kids played and Kary and I gabbed the whole time! We were exhausted at the end of the day but felt extremely blessed!! Thanks Kris and Jennifer for the tickets. And thanks Kary for getting me in for a discount and hanging out!
I see you!
A couple of weeks ago Aaron and I went to get our eyes checked together. This is kinda new for us. Last year was the first time he needed to get glasses. His vision is not that bad. Mine, on the other hand, is terrible. But we had fun watching each other do the eye exams and all. We had lots of fun looking at glasses together. I tried on several that were just plain funny looking. In the end I think we both came out looking extremely smart and attractive! Thanks Honey!!

Getting organized
I have had a really productive couple of days to get my stuff organized before school. I have lots more to do. I have cleared all my baby books, updated new ones, and have most of my curriculum planned out. I cant wait. I look forward to getting back into a new routine. I hope (and I hope every year gets better) to be more organized. Last year was great. This year is a step up. No more baby lessons. They are 3rd and 4th grade. Reading and Math are a big jump. I am truely confident they will do well. I cherish these moments! I love watching them grow. Today, we went to the library. Because we studied Greek mythology, JD was intrested to read more about it and told me all about what he like about the book. That is definately rewarding to me. And to him. He enjoyed what he learned!!!Georgia looks forward to school starting! I love it!
I came across a website called Flylady. I love it. She starts out with baby steps to help you get your home organized. I am enjoying it. I am a nerd when it comes to that. I so desparately want to be organize yet can't stick with it. I truely want a clean house so I am not panicked every time someone comes by. Most people understand.
Thanks for hearing me vent:)

Brace yourself JD
Today JD had his braces put on. His dentist recommended braces now before his adult molars come in. This helps his permanent teeth in the front and middle to make space for his molars before they come in. His teeth are already crowded, so waiting till he is 13 or 14 would mean he would need teeth pulled. Doing this now allows them to stretch his jaw to make room for all of his teeth. He will be in them about a year. We are excited about this because it will save us time, money, and JD will be out of braces and have beautiful teeth for middle school! Sounds like a win/win!
